Seeking strategic thinker and talented executive leader in Inventory Management (NEW POSITION), with the proven ability to think differently about how to manage inventory efficiency across a high growth distribution network. This high growth ecommerce company (direct to consumer retail) will be a multi-billion-dollar company in a few short years, so now is the time to change. You will lead that change. Official title is Head of Inventory Management.
Flow product better. Carry more of the important stuff, get out of the slower movers faster. Perfect role for a current VP of Supply Chain / Inventory Management / Planning & Allocation. Deep expertise required at a pure play ecommerce company, or within a high volume ecommerce division at a retail company.
Your teams are responsible for bringing best practices and policies to a high growth company in preparation for even more growth. The right leader derives career satisfaction out of building new things, instilling capabilities that didn't previously exist, and enabling mind-blowing performance due to your leadership. The two teams that will report to you are:
- Demand Planning for initial buys, pre-buys, direct imports from overseas. You will implement, continuously improve, and hold the company accountable to open-to-buy (OTB) and cash flow targets. You will teach the company how to talk about demand and inventory flow, and how they interrelate with customer demands across multiple online sales channels.
- Replenishment of existing items, determining how often and best methods for ongoing replenishment and allocation to the DCs. You will determine what's moving (and what's not), manage product seasonality, work very closely with the DCs and vendor management / business development teams.
The company has very aggressive yet achievable growth targets as they expand exponentially. Multiple distribution centers in the United States, building more as well. Unlimited growth potential, and this is the chance to lead something big that will mean something even bigger. You will drive the IT development strategy for the tools your teams need to leapfrog industry leaders. You'll know SKU profiling, demand curves, product placement strategies based on product sales needs and geographic customer requirements.
This is not a remote working role, but you can choose where to be based: Austin, TX (~40% travel), Omaha, NE, or Lincoln, NE (both 15%-20% travel). Your teams will be located in all 3 locations, so incredible leadership is needed to effectively drive performance and alignment from afar. Holiday season is coming, so you'll jump in with both feet and hit the ground running.
