This position will be responsible for creating, developing, managing and maintaining materials management and logistics services to support clients in the Greater Boston area. This individual will be responsible for improving the ease of doing business with the Company on a Global basis working within a new service offering, Discovery, to ship samples expeditiously and efficiently. This position reports into the lab operations team and directly reports to the Senior Director of Operations. Great role for current logistics specialists, coordinators, managers, and supply chain logistics experts looking for a new career opportunity. This position is an individual contributor with no direct reports. KEY PERFORMANCE OBJECTIVES
 
  • Responsible for creating, developing, managing and maintaining materials management and logistics services to support our clients in the Greater Boston area.
  • Improve the ease of doing business with the company on a global basis by providing Greater Boston area clients dedicated materials management and logistic services.
  • Partner with site heads, business development, client services staff and service lines to ensure the timely and simplified fulfillment of materials receipt, shipment, storage, tracking and logistics.
 
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS
 
  • 4+ years of related experience in domestic and international logistics/transportation practices with a wide variety of biologic matrices, active pharmaceutical compounds and other chemical reagents.
  • Strong experience in interfacing with regulatory agencies (e.g., FDA, USDA, US Fish and Wildlife, DEA, DOT, and Customs agencies) and internal and external clients.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in management or related discipline. Supply chain management certificate and/or Master's degree preferred.
  • Ability to work with fragile, small products (e.g small viles with small powder or liquid values).
  • Exceptional organizational, communication, interpersonal and presentation skills.
  • Strong intrapersonal direction and motivation and prior personnel management experience are a plus.
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted as a satisfactory substitute for the specific education and experience listed.
  • Comfortable with extensive visibility, interacting internally across functions.
