Job Description
 
This role will lead all digital marketing efforts for the company in China (ecommerce and retail stores). The marketing leader will be based in Shanghai and will directly to Head of Ecommerce for China, who is also based in Shanghai. The position will lead also collaborate with the store marketing team based in the United States. The ideal candidate has a track record of driving business growth through digital marketing channels, activities, and partnerships. You will:
 
  1. Lead the team to drive sales (ecommerce and retail stores) through innovative, effective and cost-efficient digital marketing programs and strategies.
  2. Expertly oversee traffic acquisition and search strategy (SEM, SEO, affiliation, paid social, display, programmatic), as well as customer retention programs (email campaign, remarketing) in collaboration with the ecommerce and retail stores marketing teams.
  3. Manage marketing initiatives on social media, WeChat, and local Chinese platforms (JD, Tmall, Secoo, etc.), to maximize sales, awareness, and return on investment.
  4. Work closely with ecommerce team members, retail leadership, agencies, and platform partners to identify, optimize, and execute increasingly successful digital marketing initiatives.
  5. Optimize the impact of all marketing spend within each digital channel.
  6. Manage the marketing forecasts and budgets, continuing to enhance efficiency and performance of all digital marketing efforts.
  7. Lead the transition to a single customer record, a true 360-degree omni-channel view.

Requirements

The ideal candidate will have specific experience managing digital marketing for direct-to-consumer or retail companies in China. Fashion apparel experience preferred. Proven track record in ecommerce operations, online marketing, and digital strategy. You must be able to demonstrate your capability and experience to identify and implement marketing initiatives that increase traffic and sales, drive conversion, and build the relationships necessary to enable growth. Additional qualifications:
 
  1. Bachelor’s degree in business or marketing (or its equivalent), MBA a plus
  2. Fluent in English and Mandarin, both written and spoken
  3. 5+ years of experience managing digital marketing in China for an ecommerce and/or retail company
  4. Proven record of driving retail and ecommerce business through digital channels
  5. Ability to manage and coordinate third-party resources and partnerships (ecommerce service providers, platform partners, external agencies), monitoring implementation and tracking results of every project
  6. Team leadership experience: recruiting, training, retaining, managing performance
  7. Solid understanding with both bricks-and-mortar and online retailing
  8. Strong analytical skills and deep understanding of digital marketing
