Director, Upstream Supply Chain and Procurement

Our client is seeking a director to build and lead the upstream supply chain and procurement team. This is a *NEW ROLE* where you get to build your own team (up to 25+), with tremendous growth opportunity and career path for the right candidate. Deep procurement expertise will serve the successful candidate well in managing critical upstream supply chain activities in this position. You will work with dozens of manufacturing locations across $ billions of inventory. Highly desirable work location just South of Nashville, excellent compensation and benefits.
 
KEY ACTIVITIES
 
  • Identify business needs and market opportunities to craft a world class upstream supply chain
  • Develop, implement, execute, and continually improve the upstream supply chain strategy
  • Lead and optimize all upstream activities related to the supply chain: inventory management, lead time management, e-invoicing, receipts, EDI, ASN, digital forecast acknowledgement, co-planning, supply chain web portal, PO execution, etc.
  • Maintain, track, and improve the performance dashboard
  • Create and oversee continuous improvement in service agreements and KPIs
  • Supplier performance management (quality, performance, accuracy, efficiency)
  • Manage budget planning, forecasting, cost analysis, spend analysis, and ROI
 
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS
 
  • 5+ years of experience as a senior manager and/or director of procurement within the supply chain
  • Deep understanding of procurement and materials management processes
  • Cross-cultural awareness and appreciation of diversity
  • Capability to handle multiple competing, high-priority initiatives in a fast-paced work environment
  • Four-year degree (or its equivalent) in supply chain management, business administration, or industrial engineering
  • CPIM, CPSM, other supply chain/operations/procurement certifications preferred
  • Master's Degree preferred, but not required
  • Quality management expertise (Six Sigma, Lean, etc.)
  • International trade expertise
  • Strong project management skills
  • IT tools familiarity with strong analytics capabilities
