Our client is seeking a NEW strategic procurement director position within one of the world's most premium marketing and public relations agencies. This is a unique greenfield opportunity for an indirect procurement expert in business and professional services who thrives on transformation, challenges the status quo, drives top and bottom-line value, and builds powerful partnerships.
You will impact company strategy and create competitive differentiation by:
  1. Standing in for the SVP internally with senior executive leaders, and externally with clients' executives, marketing leaders, and procurement experts.
  2. Establishing and leading the company's Supplier Diversity program.
  3. Supporting new business development and applying expert knowledge in commercial relationships, negotiations, and strategic sourcing to the benefit of the agency (in new sales cycles and existing client relationships).
  4. Creatively and uniquely co-developing programs with the biggest clients and their own procurement and marketing teams, to ensure that costs are managed and funds are most effectively applied to top-line revene creating activities.

You will simply lead efforts to add value, everywhere, through your procurement, process, and people expertise.
The position reports directly to the SVP responsible for establishing new client relationships and creating value between the respective procurement and operations teams, and you will frequently interact with senior executives inside and outside of the company. This is a business-shifting role, as you will provide the strategic sourcing expertise, the supplier diversity program, and the procurement power for the brand as it continues to grow with its clients.
You will start as an individual contributor in the role, on the small yet highly involved and influential procurement team. The group is less than 2 years old, and they’re already beginning to influence other offices globally with their keen capabilities and strategic vision. They have a seat at the table with the C-Suite, and they’re already integral to the company's business development efforts. Key Responsibilities
  • Create the company's Supplier Diversity program and oversee the function
  • Partner with internal stakeholders and clients' procurement teams to identify and deliver value through creative procurement process, analytics, tools, negotiations, and contracting
  • Support the procurement and business development teams with growth opportunities
  • Lead efforts with key global clients to actively manage out of pocket spend
Ideal Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree required
  • MBA and/or professional certifications ideal (CPSD, CPSM, C.P.M., CPIM, etc.)
  • 5+ years managing indirect procurement for business and professional services (marketing, advertising, agency, IT, support, etc.)
  • Proven capabilities in implementing and/or managing an effective Supplier Diversity program
  • Systems savvy (ERP, eSourcing, requisitions/POs, supplier portals, etc.)
  • Hungry to lead change and make a real difference in global business
