Head of Amazon (own the P&L, report to CEO)

We are exclusively contracted with our ecommerce client Tuft & Needle (www.tuftandneedle.com) to find a talented leader for their profitable, high growth company based in Phoenix. This is a senior manager or director level role responsible for the account management and marketing through the Amazon Channel, and "Head of Amazon" is the internal title. You will own the full Amazon Channel P&L and report directly to the CEO, with the the autonomy to run your own line of business. In this role you will be responsible for all aspects of T&N's Amazon business. This includes realizing company growth ambitions on the platform through advertising spend, promotion optimization and product introductions, as well as relationship management with Amazon’s vendor and advertising teams. T&N has outpaced the growth of the Amazon platform over the past three years and with a >70% market share in the >$500 mattress product category -- you will be responsible for defending and growing this position. And you will facilitate efforts to significantly expand product offerings to T&N's loyal customers, while continuing to strengthen the performance of the Amazon Channel.
  • Grow the Amazon Channel through marketing spend optimization, promotions optimization and product introductions.
  • Fully responsible for T&N's Amazon Channel P&L.
  • Negotiate terms and pricing with counterparts at Amazon.
  • Build and maintain an effective relationship with Amazon’s vendor teams.
  • Develop and marketing campaigns on AMS and AMG platforms.
  • Manage and develop one Amazon marketing specialist.

  • Great interpersonal skillset. Establish effective relationships with teams that can help you be successful, including Product, Design, Finance, Legal, Retail and Supply Chain.
  • Bachelors degree required, Masters or MBA a plus
  • 3-10 years of experience working in e-commerce, strategy consulting and/or vendor management
  • Experience with managing AMS and AMG marketing campaigns on the Amazon platform.
  • Deep experience with Amazon’s Vendor Central as well as Seller Central platforms.
  • Proficient with Excel, specifically building financial models and forecasts.
  • Proficient with Keynote or Powerpoint.
  • Able to work on multiple projects at once, with excellent time management skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills (articulate communicator and strong listener) in order to manage multiple external partnerships and to coordinate across company teams.
