The Office Manager will be the first point of contact for internal and external colleagues and employees. At least 3 years of experience required managing a high growth office, including admin, HR, and interfacing with outside legal counsel for China. Our client is a US-based global fashion apparel retail and ecommerce company. The company is highly successful and is continuing to expand in China. This role will be located in Shanghai.
Job Description
The Office Manager is responsible for the smooth, effective, and efficient day-to-day administration and operation of the Shanghai office. This position provides a wide range of confidential and high-level administrative support by gathering information, managing employee data, compiling reports, communicating with global team members, organizing and coordinating calendar appointments, making travel arrangements, ordering supplies completing expense reports, and providing other assistance for the team. The size of the of the team will continue to grow, and the office manager will support many employees (up to 50). This position supports the The position will report directly to the US-based executive responsible for China ecommerce and retail growth. Additional activities include, but are not limited to:
  • Lead and complete projects as assigned, and ensure that tasks are completed
  • Plan, organize, and manage multiple calendars and schedules
  • Skillfully handle confidential information and high priority tasks
  • Assist in critical ecommerce and marketing initiatives
  • Manage external vendors, accounts payable/receivable, and budgets
  • Provide general administration support to the Head of Ecommerce for China, and liaise with leadership and other team members in the United States
Essential Requirements
  • At least 3 years of experience as Center or Office Manager, including experience with HR and legal support
  • Fluent in English and Mandarin (written and spoken)
  • Bachelor's degree, or at least some college
  • Experience working in an ecommerce or retail company office
  • Strong interest in apparel and fashion
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Microsoft Office working knowledge (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Engaging and pleasant disposition in person and on the phone
  • Master multi-tasker: ability to organize tasks and priorities exceptionally well
  • Legal, finance, or human resources background extremely helpful in this role
Chinese passport required. Candidates must currently live in Shanghai.
