VP Distribution, Warehousing, People Development (Ecommerce)

Our high growth, profitable ecommerce client seeks to fill a new role leading the logistics and transportation network for the whole company: procurement, efficiency, auditing, process enhancements, and most importantly, people development. The DCs will employ 1,000+ people in the US over the next 5 years, and the company needs a talented leader who wants to not only optimize all parcel/logistics/transportation spend, but also focus on developing people and teams so that they can grow within other areas of the company.
You will report directly to the Head of Operations, and your peers will be multi-DC management experts.
Key Capabilities
  • Multi-unit leadership: you have led multiple retail and/or ecommerce distribution centers, and the DC general managers have reported directly to you.
  • Data-driven: you have a strong track record of compiling, analyzing, and using data to actually implement significant changes within your company.
  • Passionate about team development: clear background of hiring, mentoring, and building other leaders, with a consistent showing of people who grew up and out of operations into other company departments.  You will be responsible for the people execution throughout the DC network. You will demonstrate constant coaching, growth, accountability, and and push for increased improvement.
  • Excellent communicator and presenter: you easily break down complex scenarios into digestible formats for stakeholders.
  • Details are your friend: you know both the granular and high-level strategic information related to your business success, and you have a current and constant understanding of your DCs' performance KPIs.
  • High accountability: you demonstrate a sense of ownership in all of your leadership, communications, and actions.
  • Partnership focused: you heavily influence and proactively partner with leaders in other parts of the organization, and you look for areas where you can make a difference outside of your own vertical.
