They're looking for talented buying experts who understand and manage commodities. This role is specific to diamonds and finished jewelry, but strategic procurement gurus who also understand global commodity sourcing in other categories can be natural fits and succeed in this exciting role.
 
KEY PERFORMANCE OBJECTIVES:
 
  • Create, calibrate and execute procurement strategies across all sourcing channels as directed by company leadership.
  • Ensure strong vendor relationships through regular communication, while monitoring vendor performance and compliance.
  • Generate policies and protocols for gathering key metrics to mitigate risk and lower expenses while improving productivity.
  • Monitor commodity indices and analyze market trends to leverage favorable conditions and negotiate opportunistic sourcing.
  • Track industry product trends and manage competitive positioning of product categories.
 
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:
 
  • Bachelor’s Degree required in business administration, logistics, purchasing, supply chain management or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in sourcing/procurement.
  • Deep knowledge of sourcing/procurement best practices in finished jewelry and the diamond market.
  • Expert analytical, negotiation and communication and decision-making skills.
  • International travel required, variable up to 6-8 weeks per year.
