Seeking strategic pricing executive who knows how to lead in a high volume ecommerce environment across multiple sales channels (NEW POSITION, can be located in Omaha, NE; Lincoln, NE (HQ); or Austin, TX). This high growth ecommerce company (direct to consumer retail) will be a multi-billion-dollar company in a few short years, and you will drive the pricing strategy and execution that enables this growth.
Perfect role for a current VP / Director of Pricing at an ecommerce or retail company. The official title of this position is Head of Pricing. Deep expertise required at a pure play ecommerce company, or within a high volume ecommerce division at a retail company -- ecommerce volume and multi-channel challenges are different than traditional retail. This is a full lifecycle pricing job, and your work matters. A lot.
You'll be able to define your team and partner with analytics colleagues (data scientists, engineers, architects, analysts, etc.) to develop and drive the company's pricing strategy. You will work cross-functionally with inventory management (demand planning and replenishment), vendor management and business development, IT, marketing, and operations. You'll establish and capture policies and processes, you'll write rules for the first time in many instances. You will identify price elasticity, figure out the demand models for pricing, calculate probability about different market channels following the price changes...all while helping increase turns and sell through inventory at maximum contribution margins.
Goal #1 is to improve business logic in the 4th quarter, while applying your comprehensive knowledge of business rules and pricing analytics. Then in Q1 you will lead the shift to algorithmic pricing, working with the software development team to develop machine learning capabilities and industry-leading pricing strategies.
The company has very aggressive yet achievable growth targets as they expand exponentially. Multiple distribution centers in the United States, building more as well. Unlimited growth potential, and this is the chance to lead something big that will mean something even bigger. You will drive the IT development strategy for the tools your teams need to leapfrog industry leaders. You'll know SKU profiling, demand curves, product placement strategies based on product sales needs and geographic customer requirements.
This is not a remote working role, but you can choose where to be based: Austin, TX (~40% travel), Omaha, NE, or Lincoln, NE (both 15%-20% travel). Incredible leadership is needed to effectively drive performance and alignment across multiple office locations, and with all levels inside of the company. Holiday season is coming, so you'll jump in with both feet and hit the ground running.
